ACTIVE PUPPETS
Active puppets is UNIMA SA’s program for expanding the use of puppetry for social development.
UMOJA
Umoja is UNIMA SA’s current research project. In collaboration with local
puppetry company the Paper Body Collective, UNIMA SA sent representatives
to the Kenyan International Puppetry Festival to establish connections
with other African UNIMA centres. At the UNIMA meeting held in Nairobi,
Umoja! was launched, a project which will (in the next 2 years) locate performing
arts groups using puppetry and visual media in theatre across Africa.
